Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968) and the Lure of the Copy

This is the first exhibition in the Peggy Guggenheim Collection devoted exclusively to Marcel Duchamp, the French painter, visual artist and writer. 60 works are on display, starting with the Box in a Suitcase, a portable museum housing 69 replicas and miniatures of works by Marcel Duchamp. This exhibition reflects the steadfast friendship between him and the American art collector Peggy Guggenheim.
