Closed Space

“The Closed Space project explores the dialogue between the child and the adult. The starting point of this project is the simple gesture of folding a paper airplane.

The poem illustrates this dialogue: the child, “him,” throws his paper airplanes—innocent, fragile—while “I,” the adult, carried by this gesture, passes through this large sail that covers the outside world.

The coat translates this poetry into volume: minimal, folded like an airplane, it creates a space to inhabit—a closed room. The low sleeves and closures suggest a space to traverse, a confined area that invites travel.

Like a hotel, like the Nolinski, these interiors that we tame for a few nights, this closed space becomes an ephemeral passage, a space to be crossed rather than possessed.”
