Carry-On Luggage
“Enough is enough!
Here, the clothes are not coordinated, not hierarchical, not ‘properly worn.’ They are stuck, crushed, partially visible, like in a poorly prepared departure or a chaotic return. The silhouette is deliberately excessive, unbalanced, cumbersome. Blazer, shirt, and trousers intertwine in the explosion of this overstuffed suitcase.
Carry-On Luggage plays with the idea of overload: too many options, too many pieces, too many choices. Everything is taken, everything is there, and the result be damned.
Moreover, this outfit reflects an absurd relationship to travel, overconsumption, and image: wanting to take everything, to show everything, to the point of excess. The exploding suitcase becomes a critique of the “too much.”
The project is deliberately pushed to the ridiculous: overstuffed, excessive volume, unapologetic imbalance. The suitcase becomes a garment, the garment becomes a problem. One can no longer tell whether we are looking at someone about to travel or at luggage that has decided to wear itself.”
